Lilies on the Lanai

One morning in my garden I was struck by two perfectly formed and fragrant blooms that seemed to come up over night. The dew drops and crisp morning light came together to make the perfect picture. Admittedly, not two weeks before, I nearly pulled their shoots thinking they were weeds! I’m so glad that I let them mature and was able to immortalize them in “Lilies on the Lanai.” Though the blooms are white, they display a wealth of undulating color that stands out against the depth, the sheen, and the detail of the greenery behind.
