I came upon this Double Delight rose on one of my many trips to Descanso Gardens. It’s beautiful two-tone design gives it so much visual interest that I focused on the single rose. I love the composition of this painting - the way your eye starts in the delicate folds of the center and spirals outward with intensifying color that culminates in the dramatic shadows and depths of the petal tips and extreme background.
