Each February, people from all over come to Descanso Gardens in Southern California to walk through their exquisite Camillia forest alive with a fantastic variety of blooms in all colors and sizes. As I walked each day through the forest to the Boddy House Gallery, one particular tree full with red and white blossoms was especially spectacular. As I looked up into the canopy, the soft winter-white sky evenly illuminated the foliage and flowers to create an near camouflaged dappling effect in which parts of the flower perfectly blended into the white February sky.
